After two weeks of collecting change and bills, BES had raised $2,000 for another school that had been closed for several weeks because of Hurricane Harvey.
It ended up being a weekend to remember for a group of AHS students that participated in the student innovation challenge, sponsored by DLR Group.
On Tuesday afternoons, Aubrey High School goes a little green. Among the Aubrey students wearing their Chaparral red and blue in the high school library, there are some students wearing green collared shirts. Those students are from the University of North Texas and they are called the G-Force.
As a professional dog trainer, Dawn Mellick has seen the amazing impact that dogs can have on people, especially children. With four children passing through the Aubrey Independent School District,including two sons currently at the high school, Mellick saw a need for a therapy dog at the campuses.
There will be staff development days and no school for students on Friday, Oct. 20 and Monday, Oct. 23.
The Go Center is a grant-funded program designed to allow college students to mentor high school students through the process of applying to colleges, searching for scholarships, and applying for financial aid. Aubrey High School has partnered with UNT to assist our students with college search, scholarships, financial aide, and all things post-secondary. The Go Center will be in the High School library on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:15 p.m.
