  • vote Aubrey ISD planning to generate $500,000

    in additional state funds

    annually with TRE

The Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees has passed the order to call for a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) on Aug. 27 to take advantage of the state finance formula to restructure the tax rate. If approved, the district would receive $500,000 annually in extra state funding with no increase in the tax rate.

The TRE will allow Aubrey ISD to restructure its tax rate by increasing its Maintenance and Operations (M&0) tax rate by 13 cents while reducing the Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate by the same 13 cents. Therefore, the tax rate would remain at $1.51 and there would be no tax rate increase.

The district receives more state funding for its M&O tax rate than for its I&S tax rate. Increasing Aubrey ISD’s M&O tax rate brings more state dollars to the district than the I&S tax revenue. This is what is known as a “tax swap”.

In summation the board approved conducting the TRE to increase state funding by $500,000 annually, while keeping the tax rate the same at $1.51.

  • Little girl Aubrey ISD Receives 5-Stars from TXSmartSchools

Using both academic progress and spending levels at Texas' school districts and individual school campuses, each district and campus is assigned a Smart Score of one to five stars, indicating its success in combining cost-effective spending with the achievement of measurable student academic progress compared with their fiscal peers. Five stars reflects the strongest relative progress combined with the lowest relative spending. Aubrey ISD was one of only 44 five-star charter and public school districts in 2016. For more information go to www.TXSmartSchools.org.

  • Dresign ss Code 2016-2017

Please note that the dress code was revisited by a committee of parents, teachers, community members and administrators.  This group sent recommendations to the Board of Trustees. A link to the Aubrey ISD Dress Code is below.  The wording in the highlighted areas were adjusted for clarity.  Other than these minor clarifications, the dress code remains the same.  Please call your campus administration if you have any concerns or questions.
