Planning for the 2020-2021 school year has been ongoing for several weeks. The health emergency we continue to experience has necessitated we create plans for a safe on campus learning experience and distance learning. This is certainly a challenge and as a school district we appreciate your support.
In order to create and implement the most effective plans, the district formed multiple committees of teachers and parents to give feedback. Surveys of parents and staff provided valuable information as we formulated plans.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) provided important guidelines for on-campus and remote learning in late June and most recently July 7th. We acknowledge that this health emergency will continue to evolve and new information/guidance will be issued as we move forward. Because of this, the plans contained in this document are subject to change at any time. We all must remain flexible and committed to working collaboratively to ensure a successful school year in 2020-2021.
The plan is broken up into several sections. Those sections are:
- General/Frequently Asked Questions
- Prevention/Response Protocol
- Instructional Plan
- UIL Activities Protocol
The District has worked to provide information regarding the plans. Some actions will be campus specific and therefore will be published by each campus. For example, drop off and pick up plans will be created by each campus and published/communicated by the principal.
Please know that we are fully committed to providing the best possible educational experience for students while working to keep our staff and students healthy and safe.
