Welcome Letter

Dear Students Welcome to Second Grade!

My name is Mrs. Scites and I am looking forward to our new school year together. We are going to learn a lot and have fun too! I hope that you will be able to attend Meet the Teacher Night on August 12th. It will be from 5:30 pm until 7:00pm. Our classroom is room # 711.

I would like to share a few things about me. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Drama Studies from S.U.N.Y Purchase, Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Certificate in Elementary through University of Phoenix and my Master’s degree in Education through Regis University. I am also certified in ESL. I was a teacher in Las Vegas for 18 years and taught kindergarten through third grade. This past year I was lucky enough to work as a tutor at Fuller. I enjoyed getting to know and help many of the students at the school. My husband Garey and I moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada in 2018. We absolutely love Texas and are happy to call Aubrey home. When I am not teaching I love to read, swim and travel. My husband and I have been fortunate to be able to travel to many countries like Ireland, England, France, Italy and many islands in the Caribbean.

In my classroom, I believe that all children learn in different ways and at their own pace. I expect everyone in my classroom to do their best and to be kind to each other. An important part of my job this year is to help you be the best you can be. I want to work with your family to achieve second grade goals as well as character goals and expectations we have here at Fuller. Please feel free to contact me any time!
