    What is UIL?
    The University Interscholastic League was created by The University of
    Texas at Austin to provide leadership and guidance to public school
    debate and athletic teachers. Since 1909 the UIL has grown into the l
    argest organization of its kind in the world.
     
    Does the Speech & Debate squad compete only in UIL events?
    No, the squad competes in UIL events (University Interscholastic League), NSDA events (National Speech and Debate Association), and TFA events (Texas Forensics Association). 
     
    Who is allowed to join?
    Everybody! Everybody and anybody is allowed to join who is in
    good standing with Aubrey High School, is passing, and has the determination, however it is recommended that the prerequisite
     communications applications (speech) is taken prior to taking
    the UIL class or joining the speech and debate squad.
