Morning Drop-Off Procedures - The doors at Brockett Elementary open at 7:15 a.m. Please note there is no supervision before 7:15 a.m. We do ask that you stay with your child until 7:15 a.m. for his or her safety.
Students being dropped off in the morning may be let off on the north side of the Brockett Elementary. As you enter into the car unloading zone, we ask that you enter Brockett from Michelle Street or Countryside Drive. This will help to alleviate traffic backup and the crossover of traffic. Walkers and bike riders will enter the north entrance in addition to car riders.
School faculty members will be present to help assist in unloading your child.
After your child is unloaded, please continue to exit the drive to keep the flow of traffic moving in a timely manner.
Each child will be directed to the sidewalk to enter into the cafeteria for breakfast. Walking students to the classrooms will not be permitted as the cafeteria is the designated area for students in the morning. Students may purchase breakfast in the cafeteria beginning at 7:15 a.m. Car riders, walkers, or bike riders wishing to eat breakfast in the cafeteria should arrive before 7:30 a.m. to ensure they are not late to class.
PLEASE DO NOT DROP CHILDREN OFF IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. PLEASE CONTINUE TO THE NORTH SIDE FOR MORNING DROP OFF. THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL IS A DESIGNATED UNLOADING ZONE FOR BUSES. THE AREA MUST BE KEPT CLEAR FOR THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF BUSES IN A TIMELY MANNER. IN THE EVENT YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY AND NEED TO COME TO THE FRONT OFFICE, PLEASE PARK YOUR CAR AND COME TO THE FRONT OFFICE, WHERE WE WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU.
The school day will run from 7:45AM – 3:20PM. Students arriving after 7:50AM are considered tardy and will at this time need to report to the office for a permit to class.
We kindly request that parents help instill an “independent start” in their child. Please encourage your child to independently walk to the cafeteria or gym. Teachers and staff members will be stationed in the gym, cafeteria, car unloading zone, and bus zone for supervision. We will also have extra staff available the first two weeks of school to help with our students to ensure they have a pleasant beginning at Brockett Elementary.
During the beginning of each day our teachers are preparing for instruction or supervising students. Therefore, they may not be available for a conference first thing in the morning. However, we want our lines of communication open to you always. Therefore, if a conference is needed, we ask that you call our front office and schedule a conference with the teacher. If there is an emergency, please let our front office know and we will assist in getting the teacher to you immediately.
With these procedures, our students are centrally located. There are two places in the school, the cafeteria or gym where students report and supervision is provided.
Pre-K thru 2nd grade must be accompanied by an older sibling to walk home. FES will meet siblings up before dismissing. Students will be escorted in groups across Quicksilver Blvd if they are traveling to the south side of the neighborhood. Students who will walk to the east will be escorted down Quicksilver to Faro.
Parents may meet up with their child on Quicksilver or at a designated location off school property, determined by the family. Parents will not meet-up with their child on school grounds due to safety precautions and the inability to monitor social distancing guidelines. Please email Mrs. Abrams if your child requires specific accommodations.
Bike riders will follow the same procedures (as above) for walkers. Bike riders will walk their bike, until they are escorted off school property and safely to the sidewalks.
Pre-K thru 1st Grade Car Riders will enter off Faro Road on the NORTH side of the building.
2nd-5th Grade Car Riders will enter off Quicksilver Bld on the SOUTH side of the building.
****Siblings will meet up and dismiss on the NORTH side location. Parents will not have to go through both lines, only the NORTH side if the younger students are in Pre-K thru 1st grade.
Both sides will form one line. Thank you for your patience, as we do not have the staff at this time to safely have double lines.
We have purchased car tags to hang on your windshields, however they will go home on the first day of school. Please make a temporary sign to hang up that includes your child’s first and last name and grade level written BIG AND NEAT.
Please have your driver's license ready to show our staff. Safety is our top priority! Our staff needs to verify who is authorized to pick up your child!
Please be understanding that this will take time the first week of school and the line will move slowly.
Bus Riders: Per district policy, bus transportation is provided to families that reside outside of a two-mile radius of a school. At this time, residents of Silverado will not qualify for bus service for Fuller Elementary. Bus service will be provided for students who are zoned for Fuller Elementary and live outside of the Silverado neighborhood, such as residents on FM 2931.
Pre-K students who live in the Brockett, Monaco, and outside of Silverado will also qualify for bus service.

If you are unavoidably detained, please phone the school office so your child is not worried. We will monitor him/her in the office until you arrive. Students that are not picked up at dismissal will be brought to the office at 3:30 PM. You will need to walk in the office to sign them out.
Car pick up is on the south end of the building. Please enter the school off Benefit Drive. When you drive through the single file car pick up line, your child will be placed in your car. Please wait for all cars to be loaded and for school personnel to direct you before moving forward. Please utilize your visor hangtag (provided in the front office) when using the car pick up line. This will increase our efficiency and speed up our load time.
Independent walkers/bikers (in grades 3rd-5th grade only) are escorted across the one of two 4-way stop intersections (Cape Cod & Benefit or Cape Cod & Myers Court). Parents may meet their independent walker(s) at their appropriate intersection. The front/north entrance of the building is for bus pickup only.
If you choose to park and walk across the crosswalk to meet your child, the only students in the back of the building will be Kindergarten & 1st grade.
All students that are car riders/parent pick-up in 2nd-5th grade will be called down from the student’s classroom to maintain social distancing. While this may take some time, it was essential to keep students separated. Thank you for your patience!
