    About Me:

Hello! My name is Cherish Day, and I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher! This will be my first year teaching first grade. For the past seven years, I have worked as a special education paraprofessional, with the last four of those years being here at Monaco. While working as a paraprofessional, I earned my teaching degree from Grand Canyon University. I have experience working in all grade levels (K-5), as well as working with students who have a wide range of abilities and needs.

My husband, Daniel, and I have been married for 16 years. We have two sons - Jaxon, who is a sophomore, and Max, who is a 7th grader. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, and spending as much time outside as possible. I am an avid sports fan, and you can be sure to find me on Sunday afternoons cheering on the Cowboys!

First grade has always been my favorite age group. It is such an important year, as it lays the foundation for reading, writing, and math. I absolutely love watching children learn, and feel honored to be a part of that process. I cannot imagine doing anything different.
