Hello! My name is Christi Hammett and I am very excited about teaching kindergarten this year at Brockett Elementary. This will be my 20th year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten for 13 years and seven years in first grade. I look forward to watching your child learn and grow this year.
I was born December 8, 1976 in Denton, TX. Both my parents and grandparents are from this area. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years. We have been blessed with two beautiful children. My son is 20 years old and is a sophmore at Oklahoma State University. My daughter will be 17 in November and will be in 11th grade this year. I am very much a family person and love spending time with my family. In my spare time, I love to travel, watch and cheer on my children in their many sporting events, and run in 5K races for various causes.
As a parent, I understand the importance of teacher/parent communication. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to call, email, or send a note. I also love to hear positive things that are happening while your child is in my class. You will find that I am very caring and nurturing, but firm when it comes to students following class rules, routines, and procedures. I treat every child in my class as if they were my own. I always strive to make our day fun, exciting, and productive. I want your child to be excited about coming to school and learning something new each day. I believe that all children can be successful in some way, if given the attention, time, and appropriate resources. I believe there must also be a partnership between home and school in order to make this a reality.
I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year for all of us!
