      English Language Arts and Reading
                             g
     Dear Students and Parents,

Reading and writing is a passion, as well as student success.
My ambition is that every student will be successful.
Exploring literature and the world we live in is my goal, as
well as family history as that is where it all began. Most
importantly for me as an educator and parent is for students
to love and gain the desire to expand their curiosity through
    written words.

Being fortunate to have been raised in foreign lands, I try to
share with students real world experiences to draw their interest.
This will be my 23 year with "Aubrey America". I graduated
from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelors and Masters degree,
    certified as a Generalist 1st - 6th grades, ELAR 4th-8th grade, English
as a Second Language (ESL) 1-8.
I have taught English, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Art and
Advanced Reading. I have also taught reading in Denton ISD for
elementary struggling readers as well as ESL/Bilingual students preK,kindergarten through 6th grade and special education. I
have been privileged to have co-taught "College for Kids" at
Texas Woman's University (Show me the Money, Stock Market
Games), "Upward Bound" at the University of North Texas as
well as a community course at UNT. I have two wonderful children,
    they also attended Aubrey ISD.
Please visit the Aubrey Middle School Library site for our
    reading programs and resources.
I am looking forward to this new school year and getting to
know each of you!   Please do not hesitate to contact me at
