2022-2023 School Year
My name is Kathi Johnson and I am a learning specialist. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. Our classroom is very fortunate to have two amazing paraprofessionals, Brittany Goss and Halie Ramirez. I look forward to helping your child grow and equip them with learning tools that they can take with them on their future learning journey. I believe all children can learn and thrive with the right support and tools. I also believe the more we work together, the more your child will succeed!
This is my 19th year teaching. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I graduated from the University of New Orleans with an Early Childhood Bachelors degree. I have furthered my education by earning my Masters degree in teaching English Language Learners from Walden University. I have returned to Walden to work on my Doctoral degree in Early Childhood/Special Education Leadership. I am certified in Early Childhood through 4th, (ESL) English as a Second Language and Special Education PreK-12. I am also trained in ABA, Autism, social and emotional behaviors and continue my education in yearly training workshops.
When I am not at school teaching, you can find me at Barnes & Noble ( I am a certified book nut.)

I enjoy sitting outside late at night and looking up at the night sky.
I enjoy movies and music.
Lavender and rose-scented candles.
My favorite color is green.
My favorite restaurants are Pei Wei and Outback.
Favorite treats: York Peppermint Patti and Cheez-It Crackers
I like to paint, draw, knit, needlepoint and write (so I like all kinds of fancy pencils and pens).
I will do my best to keep you informed about what is going on with your child's learning experiences and how you may help extend their learning at home. I can be reached by email at kjohnson@aubreyisd.net. My door is always open if you have any concerns or positive input. My conference time is from 1:45pm to 2:45pm. We can make arrangements to speak by phone, meet after school or schedule a Zoom meeting. You can contact the school at 940-668-0036. I will return your call as soon as possible when children are not in my classroom.
