"Great theatre is about challenging how we think and encouraging us to fantasize about a world we aspire to."
- Willem Dafoe
Hey, everyone! My name is Maegan Kennedy and this is my sixth year teaching at Aubrey ISD. I teach middle school and high school Theatre Arts and high school Advanced Theatre Arts, Technical Theatre, Advanced Technical Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Professional Communications. I am a 2007 graduate of Gainesville High School and am thrilled to be teaching so close to home. I am very excited to get started this year. Let's make it a great one!
In addition to teaching, I will also be directing the AHS Fall show and UIL One-Act Play at both the middle school and high school.
In my free time I enjoy reading, sewing, and podcast listening. I also am a reality tv junkie (Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother are my go-to shows) and an avid Harry Potter fan! In addition, I spend a lot of time with my family. They are my world, and their love and support has gotten me to where I am today.
I have been involved in theatre since an early age, but it was not until I was in college that I realized it was my true passion and what I am meant to do. I have found that there is nothing quite so rewarding as the journey of creating something from nothing. I hope that I can instill and inspire a life-long appreciation for theatre in my students and guide them in their journey to becoming thespians in their own right.
