Welcome to my class!
I am excited to teach 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts this year. I am also an inclusion specialist, and will go into the classrooms to help out in other subjects as needed.
Here is a little background on me. This is my 18th year of teaching. I have taught in elementary school for 14 years, teaching 2nd and 3rd grades in Denton. I have been so happy with the change to working in Special Education, and this is the start of the 4th year doing this at Aubrey Middle School. I love getting to work deeper with students and really get to know them in smaller groups. I hope to really make a positive difference in my students' lives, and help them live up to their potential.
I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Psychology. Then, I went to University of North Texas for my teaching certification.
We moved to Aubrey a couple of years ago, and this is a great district! My personal kids, two daughters, are also students here, and they love it. My older daughter is starting 3rd grade, and my youngest is started Kindergarten. We also have two dogs, Betty White and Charlie, and two robo hamsters, Rainbow ande Roxy. They may make an appearance in the classroom sometimes.
If you would like to contribute anything to my classroom, please check out my Amazon Wish List. It mainly contains items that are used as incentives to be given out to students, and some fidget items to help get out the wiggles. My favorite Sonic drink is an unsweet tea. I also enjoy Starbucks, Mexican food, and Chick-Fil-A. Thank you for sharing your child with me! I appreciate your willingness to work with me, and please feel free to communicate with me openly anytime.
