Aubrey ISD Releases Animation Video of New Elementary School
Aubrey ISD is excited to release a project animation video of the new elementary school. The school district is hoping to break ground on the new school in a few weeks, and doors are planned to open for students in August 2020.
In the video, viewers can see the inspiration of the local area in the design of the new school, including Main Street of Aubrey and the peanut sorters.
A committee of teachers, parents, and administrators worked with the architects to design the new school. The committee met over a period of months providing feedback, visiting campuses in other districts, and working to ensure a school that would make our community proud. The Aubrey ISD Strategic Plan served as the foundation of the design elements to ensure the building supported the instructional philosophy of the district.
The animation will take viewers through the main hallway, the library, the courtyard, one of the collaborative spaces, the cafeteria and around the outside of the school.
The new school will be built on 15 acres of land in the Silverado housing development off FM 2931. The planned 93,820 square foot facility will serve students from pre-K through 5th grade with a total capacity for 770 students.
The new elementary school has been designed by Huckabee, the District’s architecture firm. Pogue Construction is the general contractor for the project.
