Aubrey ISD Band Programs Earn 1st Division Ratings

The Aubrey ISD band programs ended the 2020-21 school year on a high note.

Both high school concert bands performed at the UIL Region 2 Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation and received 1st division ratings,band members stand and kneel in front of Aubrey ISD backdrop holding red blankets earning 1’s from all six judges. The 1’s are the highest a group can receive.

Both middle school concert bands received 1st division ratings at the Region 2 UIL Concert & Sight-reading Evaluation as well.

Students began the process in January and submitted their video performances in April. Both bands performed three prepared pieces and then participated in the sight-reading process, performing a piece that they have never seen before.

The AHS band programs ended the school year with a concert and awards ceremony in May. Numerous awards were handed out, including blankets to all the seniors.
