New land purchase secures site of future schools
Aubrey Independent School District voters approved a May 2022 bond that includes a new middle school, three elementary schools, additions/renovations to Aubrey High School, updates to Monaco Elementary, Brockett Elementary and Aubrey Middle School, improvements of existing structures and new facilities.
The recent land purchase of 71 acres on FM 2931 secures acreage to build Middle School #2 and possibly a future elementary school. This 71 acre tract is north of the Aspen Meadow housing development near Silverado and Providence Village.
In addition, the District has been working with D.R. Horton Builders and are in process of securing 13 acres in Silverado West for elementary school #4.
Aubrey ISD has grown by 15%, enrolling 500 students since last school year from late February 2022 to February 24, 2023. With this tremendous growth, the District has diligently searched for property to build additional schools.
Aubrey ISD leadership has been working with Huckabee architects and significant progress has been made on the designs of elementary school #4, middle school #2 and the Aubrey High School additions/renovations.
In addition, the bond propositions include a multi-purpose indoor facility, practice fields and tennis courts at Aubrey High School, funds to purchase future sites for schools, a transportation center, and renovations to the administration building.
Thank you to our community for supporting the May 2022 Bond Election with Proposition A passing with 67% support and Proposition B passing with 60% support.
