40 AHS Students Inducted into NHS
Forty Aubrey High students were inducted into the AHS chapter of the National Honor Society for the spring 2019 and fall 2020 semesters in a virtual ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 29.
AHS teachers and NHS sponsors Edward Sanchez and Rachel Bradford hosted the virtual ceremony which concluded with Mrs. Bradford reading the names of the inductees.
According to its website, The National Honor Society is founded upon the principles of knowledge, scholarship, leadership, service and character. Students in grades 10–12 who meet the requirements for membership outlined by their school’s chapter are eligible to be invited for membership.
The AHS chapter required students to fill out an extensive application, get teacher recommendations, write an essay and show examples of their leadership, service and character. Academically, they have to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (out of a 5.0 scale).
