Annette Crooks

 

Annette Crooks was elected to the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees in January of 2014. She was voted vice president in May of 2021. 

She served as secretary from 2020-21. 

She served on the 2017 Aubrey ISD Strategic Planning Committee and Facility Planning Committee and currently serves on the Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach Committee. In 2018, she spearheaded an effort to establish operating procedures for the AISD board of trustees.

Mrs. Crooks worked for 30-plus years in corporate human resource roles, financial services, management development, coaching and consulting. During the past eleven years she owned and managed an equine-assisted coaching and consulting business, where she developed a series of women’s retreats utilizing experiential activities with horses, and a skill-building course for couples.  Her horses have also participated in a unique reading initiative with a local elementary school. Her horses have helped hundreds of people over the years. 

Mrs. Crooks is also engaged in breeding/raising a small number of Paso Fino horses, and she currently volunteers with the Paso Fino Committee of the United States Equestrian Federation, and the Planning Committee for the Paso Fino Horse Association. She has served as a director of the Paso Fino Horse Association and president and delegate with the Southwestern Paso Fino Horse Association. She has volunteered in the past with The Samaritan Inn, United Way, Frisco Family Services, and The Family Place. 

Mrs. Crooks received her Bachelor’s of Business  Administration from the University of North Texas.

Mrs. Crooks and her husband, Paul, live on a small horse farm in Cross Roads. They have two grown children, Carrie and Alison, who are both graduates of Aubrey ISD. She is an active competitor in the show ring with her horses. She has the privilege of serving as point-person for her very independent, funny and feisty 92-year old mom. Mrs. Crooks enjoys yoga, horses, politics, golf, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Crook's current term on the board started in May of 2021 and will expire in May of 2024.
