Aubrey ISD maintains its own police department. The department is led by police chief Kevin Clayton. He oversees a department of five officers. Every campus is manned by a full-time officer. 

Meet the Department

Chief Kevin Clayton

Chief Kevin Clayton

Kevin Clayton begins his second year as the Aubrey ISD Police Chief. The Board of Trustees approved his hiring at the April 2022 board meeting. 

Prior to coming to Aubrey ISD, Chief Clayton served as the Amarillo ISD Police Captain since 2019 and has over 17 years of experience in police and fire service. He also worked as the deputy fire marshal at the Amarillo Fire Department, was a police officer and school resource officer at the Amarillo Police Department and was a firefighter for the city of Dumas.

Chief Clayton has a bachelors degree from West Texas A&M University, and holds a master peace officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.  

Officer Kayla Elizalde

Sergeant Kayla Elizalde

Sergeant Kayla Elizalde begins her fourth year as a full-time officer with the Aubrey ISD police department. 

Sergeant Elizalde worked for six years at the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office. She was a reserve deputy, working patrol, dispatch and jail. She graduated from the Kilgore College Police Academy.

She attended University Of Texas at Tyler while playing college basketball. 

Officer Cris Conner

Officer Cris Conner

Officer Cris Conner begins his second year as an officer with the Aubrey ISD police department. He brings over 39 years of experience in law enforcement to Aubrey.

Prior to coming to Aubrey ISD police department, Officer Conner worked for the Little Elm Police Department for over 20 years, including six as a school resource officer. He graduated from the Grayson County College Police Academy.

While with the Little Elm police department, he was a patrol officer, warrant/bailiff officer, marine patrol officer and a school resource officer. 

 Officer Mike Hardin

Officer Mike Hardin

Officer Mike Hardin begins his second year with the Aubrey ISD police department. He worked with the Addison police department for 26 years. He also worked with the Dallas Sheriff's department. Most recently, he served as an officer in Jamaica Beach, Texas. 

 Officer Robert McKissick

Officer Robert McKissick

Officer McKissick begins his second year with the Aubrey police department. He has 10 years of experience in law enforcement and as an SRO. He has also worked outside of law enforcement as a bodyguard for diplomats and foreign dignitaries and as a government contractor for the Department of Defense in Iraq.

Officer Randall (Jamie) Skaggs

Officer Skaggs begins his first year with the Aubrey police department.
