Benton Bland, a graduate of Aubrey ISD, was elected to the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees in May of 2022. With three children of his own in the District, Mr. Bland felt compelled to serve on the school board in order to support the faculty and staff in their mission to educate future world changers. #SchoolBoardMonth
Terry Brockett, elected in May 2021, is serving his first term on the Aubrey ISD Board. Mr. Brockett had this to say about running for School Board: "I felt that my years of business experience could be an asset to the Aubrey board, and I also want to be part of a capable team serving the students and community." Jody Gonzalez was elected to the Aubrey ISD School Board in 2015 and currently serves as board secretary. From 2020 to 2021, he held the position of vice president. With 25 years of experience at the Denton County Emergency Services as the director, fire marshall, and emergency management coordinator, Mr. Gonzalez brings a wealth of knowledge in emergency management to his role on the board. As a parent of three children in the district, his passion for serving on the board is fueled by his personal connection to the community. #SchoolBoardMonth

In 2011, Colleen Dow was elected to the Aubrey ISD School Board, a position she continues to hold with dedication, currently serving as vice president. Notably, she fulfilled the role of board secretary from May 2018 to May 2022. Mrs. Dow's motivation to serve on the school board stemmed from her deep connection to the school district as a parent of three children attending Aubrey schools. This personal investment allowed her to understand the needs and desires of fellow parents, shaping her commitment to her role on the board. #SchoolBoardMonth
Jim Milacek has been a member of the Aubrey ISD School Board for 20 years. He was elected as board president in May of 2021 and re-elected in May of 2022. Prior to his current presidency, Mr. Milacek served as board president from May 2018 to May 2020. Additionally, he held the position of vice president for five years and served as secretary for four years before that. Mr. Milacek's decision to join the school board stemmed from his involvement in a school bond committee, where he discovered a passion for serving in that capacity. After being approached about running for the school board, he gladly accepted the opportunity. #SchoolBoardMonth
