After a slow start in the opening set, Aubrey found its rhythm and kept Ponder off balance with a strong offensive attack. Ward and Miller were tough to defend in the middle, while Chloe Miller provided solid play on the outside. Hampton distributed the ball well to the hitters, and both she and Conley anchored the defense.
The Lady Chaps return to action Tuesday, Sept. 9, when they open district play against Gainesville. JV begins at 5 p.m., followed by varsity.

Did you know? Missing just 10% of school — about 18 days a year — adds up to nearly a month of lost learning. Families, your support matters. Help your child stay on track by keeping attendance at 95% or higher. Together, we can make every day count.

Please join us for the second cohort of our Chaparral Legacy Cooperative.
This cooperative is designed specifically for any Aubrey resident ages 60 and older who is interested in learning about our schools, our children, and how you can make a difference with future generations.
The CLC empowers older citizens to become advocates for education, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to champion the achievements and advancements of Aubrey ISD.
Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor will kick off the second cohort of the Chaparral Legacy Cooperative on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Aubrey ISD Administration Building, 415 Tisdell Lane, Aubrey, TX 76227.

School starts tomorrow, Aug. 13 — slow down, stay alert, and follow the law to keep kids safe. In 2024, Texas had 781 school zone crashes, many caused by speeding and driver inattention. Together, we can keep our Chaps safe.

Aubrey ISD is kicking off the school year with a focus on strong attendance — because when students show, they grow! Our goal is for every student to maintain at least a 95% attendance rate this year. That means missing no more than nine days all year!
Every day counts.
Every class matters.
Every student benefits.
Let’s make this year the best one yet — strive for 95!

On July 24, a ribbon cutting was held at Owens Middle School. Owens is the second middle school in Aubrey ISD and is named after Evalois Owens, a 40-year district employee and founder of the Aubrey Education Foundation. On Aug. 13, it will welcome students through its doors. #ChapsBuildingGreatness #ChapsGoBack25 See more event pictures: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CViMhDT54/?mibextid=wwXIfr

New Personal Communications Device Law
Texas House Bill 1481, a new state law, will take effect during the 2025-26 school year and will directly impact student personal communication devices during instructional hours (defined as first bell to last bell).
Exceptions are possible with documented medical needs, IEP or 504 accommodations, or other health and safety requirements as outlined by the law.
Students may not use personal cellphones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds or similar devices during instructional hours. This includes lunch, recess and passing periods.
Please begin talking to your child now about this upcoming change. Your support will help us create a more focused learning environment.
Aubrey ISD will share more information as the plan is developed.

Before you head out for back-to-school shopping, take a moment to review the Aubrey ISD dress code. The district’s guidelines are designed to promote good grooming and hygiene, prevent disruptions, and minimize safety hazards.
