At a Special Board Meeting on July 8, 2026, the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of the following new Aubrey ISD campus leaders:
Clinton Fisher - Assistant Principal, Owens Middle School
Fisher holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Master of Arts in Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Fisher's teaching career began in Aransas County ISD, with math and career and technical education (CTE) educator and coaching roles in Katy ISD. Administrative leadership experiences include roles as an assistant principal in Tarkington, Cypress-Fairbanks and Katy ISDs. Fisher's most recent role was as a special education teacher and Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Administrator at Aubrey High School.
Patricia Johnson - Assistant Principal, Owens Middle School
Johnson holds a Master of Education degree with specialization in Technology and English as a Second Language (ESL) from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas. Johnson joins Aubrey ISD from a teacher role in Prosper ISD, with prior experiences in data analysis, instructional design and leading specialized instruction in Frisco and Allen ISDs.
Melissa McDowell - Assistant Principal, Monaco Elementary School
McDowell holds a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership from The University of Texas at Tyler and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Abilene Christian University. McDowell's teaching career began in Irving ISD with additional educator experiences in Bryan and Keller ISDs and at Norman and Newcastle Public Schools in Oklahoma. McDowell recently served as an administrator intern at Brockett Elementary School and fifth grade teacher at West Elementary School in Aubrey ISD.
Shauna Upton - Assistant Principal, West Elementary School
Upton holds a Master of Educational Technology degree from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Texas Baptist University. Upton's teaching career began in Little Elm ISD with roles as an elementary social studies and language arts teacher, English as a Second Language (ESL) and dual language specialist, testing coordinator and most recently serving as interim assistant principal at Oak Point Elementary School.
