The Lady Chaps opened up district with a hard-fought win at Lake Dallas tonight with a final score of 50-47. After a strong opening quarter, the Lady Chaps struggled to find a flow on offense, which led to some easy buckets for the Lady Falcons. After holding off a run in the third quarter, the Lady Chaps entered the final quarter with a chip on their shoulder and a two-point lead and went on a 16-5 run to finally put the game away. I was very proud of the composure and leadership shown by my seniors, as that led the way to a good team win.
The Lady Chaps will be back on the road Friday to face district opponent Gainesville, with JV tipping off at 5 p.m. and varsity following at 6:15 p.m.
The Lady Chaps move to 1-0 in district and 12-5 overall.

Aubrey Recap:
We stressed that we needed to start the game with lots of energy. I was pleased to see that is exactly what they did. We came out attacking offensively and defensively and jumped out to a 16-10 lead at the end of the first. Early in the second quarter, we stretched the lead to 20-10. Then Grapevine started to hit a few shots and turned up the pressure defensively, which we did not handle well. We struggled to get much offense going after that. We ended up on the short end, 55-35. I am still very proud of how hard this team plays. We need to continue to work on our offense. We have one tournament left after Christmas before district starts.

Tuesday, the Lady Chaps took on 4A powerhouse Decatur. The Lady Chaps scored first with two sophomores, Kali Madden and Eva Jones, connecting 10 minutes in on Kali’s first assist and Eva’s first goal of the season. LCS would end up conceding a goal a few minutes later but rallied back to pull ahead 2-1 on a goal from sophomore Daniella Dominic-Etuk, assisted by junior Averie Santos. Decatur would draw level right before half, making it 2-2.
After some minor adjustments at half, LCS came out inspired, scoring two goals in three minutes. First, junior Landry Gannon made a deep run, cutting back to find sophomore Daniella D. for her second goal. Two minutes later, junior Jordin Gomez found senior Brynnlee Bohannon for the team’s fourth goal. Ten minutes later, there was a flurry of goals. On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Aubrey boys soccer team traveled to the Sulphur Springs scrimmage tournament and played three games. All three opponents are ranked in the preseason soccer rankings for Region 2.
The first game was back and forth with many counterattack chances. Sulphur Springs took the lead late in the first half off a goalkeeper deflection to make it 1-0. Sulphur Springs also had a penalty kick that was blocked by goalkeeper Bryan Mbateng. Carlos Vicencio blasted a rocket for Aubrey that hit the inside of the right post, crossed the goal line, and spun back out of the goal, but it was not ruled a goal. Finally, with 1:58 left in the game, Allen Palencia was fouled in the box and converted the penalty kick to tie the match 1-1. Aubrey tied preseason No. 15 Sulphur Springs in Game 1.
Game 2 was complete Aubrey dominance, as the Chaps earned a 4-0 win over preseason No. 23 Tyler Chapel Hill.
The final game of the day presented the biggest challenge against preseason No. 10 North Dallas. Aubrey jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but the goal was immediately answered by North Dallas minutes later, making the score 1-1 at halftime. Aubrey regained the lead with about 15 minutes remaining in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory.
It was a phenomenal day for Aubrey soccer, and the boys hope to carry this momentum and consistency throughout the entirety of the 2026 season.
Aubrey will play Dallas Pinkston at Aubrey on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7:15 p.m.

The Lady Chaps soccer team started the 2025-26 preseason strong with a 4-2 win against an athletic and physical 5A Denton Ryan High School squad. Picking up right where LCS left off last year and returning nine of 11 starters from a state semifinalist team, that experience helped the Lady Chaps jump out to a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half.
The scoring was led by senior captain Brynnlee Bohannon, who scored the first goal of the season and was assisted by her sister, freshman Blair Bohannon. The second goal came just under 10 minutes later from junior Landry Gannon, assisted by junior Averie Santos. The third goal was scored by junior Alexis Quinn, who tapped in a rebound off a shot from freshman Blair Bohannon.
In the second half, LCS came out fast and scored within four minutes of halftime. The goal was finished by sophomore Daniella Dominic-Etuk and assisted by junior Landry Gannon. It was a solid first scrimmage with a quality performance from the entire team.
The Lady Chaps soccer program will be back in action Tuesday, Dec. 16, against a strong 4A playoff program in Decatur at 6:30 p.m.
Goals were scored by senior Brynnlee Bohannon, junior Landry Gannon, junior Alexis Quinn, and sophomore Daniella Dominic-Etuk. Assists were recorded by freshman Blair Bohannon, who had two, along with junior Landry Gannon and junior Averie Santos. In goal, senior Lexis Jones recorded 11 saves.

We had a very tough and exciting game on senior night against a highly ranked Ponder team but came up short in overtime, 70–65.
Ponder jumped on us 8–0 in the first minute of the game, but our guys fought back to take a 20–19 lead at the end of the first period. It was a hard-fought battle back and forth all night. It came down to the final 10 seconds of regulation. We hit a 3 to tie the game and had a strong defensive stand to keep them from scoring, sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, they made a couple more plays than we did. I am extremely proud of how hard we fought the whole game. We are still growing as a team and learning every game. We have to quickly get ready for a tournament this weekend in Krum.
