Aubrey FFA Showcases Leadership Skills at Competitive District V LDE
Students Compete Across Public Speaking and Team Events Against 15 Local Chapters.
AUBREY, TX — Aubrey FFA today participated in the annual District V Leadership Development Events (LDE) at Ponder High School, fielding several teams and individual competitors. The intensive competition saw Aubrey students test their skills against members from the 15 highly competitive chapters within the District V area.
Leadership Development Events are rigorous contests that evaluate students’ public speaking abilities, decision-making capabilities, and knowledge of agricultural issues and parliamentary procedure. These events are integral to the FFA mission, preparing students to be effective communicators and leaders in their communities and future careers.
"Our students have put in countless hours preparing for these LDEs, which are essentially the 'varsity sport' of soft skills," said Steve Seale. "Competing against 15 excellent chapters proves the strength of our district, and regardless of the outcome, the confidence and poise our members gain is invaluable."

Aubrey ISD administrators, faculty and several fine arts students gathered in the auditorium at Aubrey High School today for a State Band Watch Party to cheer on the Aubrey High School Chaparral Band as they competed in San Antonio!

We couldn’t say it better than Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor, who shared the following about the Mighty Chaparral Band’s performance at state today: “Not making finals never defines a season. What defines it is growth, teamwork, and heart—and our Chaparral Band showed all three every step of the way. Congratulations on an amazing season and thank you for representing our Chaparral Family so well!!”

The Mighty Chaparral Marching Band wowed the crowd tonight with a community performance as they gear up for state!

The Aubrey ISD Aspiring Leader Academy kicked off its third cohort on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.
