Aubrey vs. Celina 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 Season Record: 41-2 District Record: 14-0 Kills: Libby Collins (15), Shaelyn Ward (12), Katie Michael (10), Kylie Miller (6), Baylee Hampton (4), Ava Thompson (1) Blocks: Kylie Miller (2), Shaelyn Ward (2), Ava Thompson (2), Libby Collins (1) Digs: Emma Conley (23), Jentry Runion (19), Baylee Hampton (12), Emily Shearer (11), Addy Cagle (10), Katie Michael (5) Aces: Emma Conley (2), Addy Cagle (2), Emily Shearer (1) Assists: Baylee Hampton (36), Emma Conley (3), Jentry Runion (1) The Lady Chaps defeated Celina last night in three sets. I felt like we found our rhythm earlier in the first set than we have been lately. We also did a really good job of keeping the pressure on Celina in the first set. At the start of the second set, we relaxed too much and allowed Celina to take the momentum, but we did a great job of fighting back after being down big in the middle of that set. We carried that momentum into the third set, which allowed us to pull away late. Both of our outsides did a really good job of taking what Celina gave us, and since they focused on slowing our middles down, our outsides were able to get some easier swings. Baylee did a great job of getting the open hitter the ball, and we passed well in serve receive. I am proud of all three of our volleyball teams for being district champions. All three have had great seasons. The varsity will play a playoff warm-up match on Monday, October 27, against Frisco Memorial at 5:30 p.m. We will begin our playoff journey on Thursday, October 30, at home against Uplift Hampton Prep.
