Scorers for Aubrey were Brooklyn Weier with 14 points, Kynadi Hall with 11, Addy Cagle with 9, Shelby Harrington and Abby Buxton with 5 points each, Molly Ward with 3, and Landry Gannon with 1.
We got off to a slow start tonight and did not shoot the ball very well in the first half and we were also 0-10 from the free throw line. We came out in the second half and starting making shoots and then we did a good job of creating turnovers with our trap defense. Brooklyn Weier and Kynadi Hall combined to score 25 points in the second half as well.
The Lady Chaps return to action on Thursday when they open the S & S tournament against Vernon.

I thought this was the best game we have played so far this season. I also thought it was the best defensive game we have played as well. I was really proud of the effort we got from the girls on both ends of the floor.
The Lady Chaps will return to action on Tuesday, November 28th at home against Howe."

Coach Smith Reports:

Thanksgiving and football are a perfect match. Making Thanksgiving morning a great time for the Chaparral family to gather for donuts, cheering, and practice. See you there!

Coach Smith Reports:
This will be a learning game for us. The effort was there the entire time. We just did not execute well at crucial moments. We will learn from this and be better. Last year we did not compete well against them but this year was a game we should have won. I think we will bounce back and have a strong game tomorrow vs a very good Ponder team.
Points by Player

We did a better job defensively than what we played this weekend, but I think we will even be better as the season moves on. The Aubrey High School Debate team had a remarkable performance at the recent Regional Meet. This year, AHS will be sending two students to the State UIL Congressional Debate Meet, marking the first time since 2014. Out of all the competitors, only the top three advanced to the state level, and Aubrey secured both the first and second place positions. Brody Burton achieved the impressive feat of becoming the second student in AHS history to be a back-to-back Regional Champion. Additionally, Margaret Quade made history as the first freshman from Aubrey High School to advance to state in Congressional Debate, earning the second place medal. The Aubrey High School Debate team is undoubtedly deserving of praise.

I am really proud of how the kids came out and played this game today. Lots of energy but we got in foul trouble in the first half and had to adjust a little on defense. We came out in the 2nd half and executed well defensively which led to good scoring opportunities. We have a really tough game coming up on Monday at Denton High. Record Overall 2-0 -Coach Smith

Our Child Nutrition team, led by Adi Caballero, recently prepared a delicious Thanksgiving meal for our staff and students.
Did you know? Our child nutrition partner, Aramark, provides us with monthly limited time offers, allowing our students to try new menu items. This week, our students had the opportunity to taste a "Spicy Tzatziki Beef Gyro" at the HS and Middle School. The gyro consisted of whole grain flatbread, seasoned beef and potatoes, tomato cucumber salad, spicy tzatziki sauce, and feta cheese.
