At a special board meeting on May 21, 2026, the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of the following new Aubrey ISD campus leader:
Anverly Laster - Principal, Elementary School #5
Laster holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management/Human Resources from Texas A&M University. With an expansive list of campus, community, state and national involvement in numerous education arenas, Laster has experience as a summer school principal, assistant principal and department specialist / language acquisition facilitator for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) among Aubrey ISD, Waco ISD and Little Rock School District. She most recently served as assistant principal at Fuller Elementary School and is the current Aubrey ISD summer school elementary principal.
Aubrey ISD Elementary School #5 is scheduled to open in August 2027. It is located off of FM 2931 near Owens Middle School.
