The Lady Chaps resumed district play today in Van Alstyne. After jumping out to an early lead, we struggled to score in the second quarter, which put us in a tough spot. Behind a strong defensive effort, we clawed back to within one point midway through the fourth quarter but were unable to score when it mattered most.
The Lady Chaps continue to improve and play with grit and effort. We will face Denton High School in a non-district game on Tuesday.
🏀Gentlemen Chap Basketball:
We came out on top in a hard-fought district road game with a gritty 61-55 overtime victory. While we didn’t play as sharply as we would have liked, the guys showed resilience, coming back in the final minute to force overtime. In the extra period, we executed well on offense and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to secure the win.
We have a bye on Tuesday, giving us a week to prepare for next Friday’s home game against Panther Creek.

⚽️Gentelmen Chap Soccer:
The Aubrey boys soccer team faced Kilgore in their first game of the season. Aubrey played a very defensive, counter-attacking style in the first half, holding preseason top-ranked Kilgore to a 1-0 lead. Kilgore’s goal came from a free kick, where Aubrey goalie Jack Goble made the initial save, but the ball’s momentum carried it across the line.
In the second half, Aubrey opened up their attack and created a few close scoring opportunities but couldn’t find the back of the net. Kilgore later capitalized on a free kick just outside the 18-yard box to score the final goal, ending the game 2-0.
Aubrey held their own against a perennial state power in Kilgore, with an even run of play and both teams matching up well. Kilgore coach Peralez remarked that Aubrey was “tough to beat and scrappy.”
Aubrey’s center back, Osvaldo Osorio, received a red card and will sit out the next game. The team’s next match is against Prosper Walnut Grove for their Senior Night on Tuesday at Children’s Health Stadium in Prosper.

L: 15 | 20 | 34 | 48
Scorers:
Addy Cagle - 12
Margaret Conley - 5
Lulu King - 2
Marquia Lucas - 2
Alexa Clayton - 2
Abby Lynch-Buxton - 2
After a 10-day break from games, the Lady Chaps traveled to Wichita Falls to face the Legacy High School Lady Leopards. Despite a slow start on both offense and defense, the Lady Chaps found a spark in the second and early third quarters before running out of momentum. While our play was sluggish at times, there were still positives to take away from the game. It served as a good warm-up to get back into rhythm before traveling to Van Alstyne on Friday to resume district play.

January is School Board Recognition Month

Happy Holidays!

This year’s district holiday luncheon took on a new look but still served as a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season. Each campus celebrated uniquely, with meals and treats for their staff in festive styles. At the high school, breakfast was delivered door-to-door. Staff district and campus gifts were also handed out. To start the holiday festivities, retirees, Chaparral Legacy Cooperative members, and district administrators enjoyed a luncheon at Aubrey Middle School, highlighted by a variety of student performances. We wish all our families a holiday season filled with rest, joy, and cherished moments together. Watch video here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14W6vPqWd3/?mibextid=wwXIfr
