
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) highlights the significance of a healthy school breakfast in supporting students' success. This annual event, occurring during the first week of March, honors the national School Breakfast Program and its role in providing children with a strong foundation each day. Aubrey Varsity Baseball started the first day of the Aubrey/Frisco ISD Tournament on Thursday splitting their two games losing to Gunter (9-3) and defeating Denison (9-1). The Chaps continue the Aubrey/Frisco ISD Tournament tomorrow at Home vs Ponder (12:30pm) and vs Frisco Heritage (5:30pm).

The Lady Chaps lost to Anna 0-8 bringing our overall record to 9-8 and our district record to 6-5. After battling two tough games back to back, the girls are fighting to finish the last 3 games of district strong. Next, the girls will take on Pilot Point on Friday, March 1st. The Girls Varsity team will kick-off at 5:15!

Congratulations to Aubrey ISD Communications and Web Director Eva D. Coleman for winning the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Best of Poster category for districts under 15,000 students for her 2023 Kindergarten Kickoff poster design. The award was presented during the TSPRA annual conference Star Awards in Sugar Land, Texas on Feb. 28, 2024. In addition, Coleman received a Gold Star Award in the Invitation/Announcement/Post Card/Thank You Note category for districts with less than 15,000 students for Aubrey ISD APPCON materials; and a Silver Star Award in the Video-General Event category for less than 15,000 students for the video about Aubrey High School’s college fair during the school day.


The Aubrey boys soccer team took on Anna last night
for the 4th place battle in district. Anna, normally a high powered offensive 3-5-2 attacking team, was held to 0-0 in regulation. In penalty kicks Aubrey came up short 6-7. Penalty kicks were taken and scored by Spencer Berger, Vladyslav Dryshliuk, Juan Paredes, Osvaldo Osorio, Juan Serrano, and Kevin Prado. Aubrey is still searching for a victory and leaving no stone unturned for a second round of district victory vs an opponent. Aubrey plays Pilot Point on Friday away.

Mya Cherry came on in relief striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 hits. On offense….Carmen Alexander led the way going 3-4 with a triple. Brooklyn Weier was 2-3 with a double. Keeli Fuller was 2-3 and Tamia Cherry hit a solo homerun. This improves the Lady Chaps record to 9-2. Go Chaps!!!! #Holdtherope 


This week the Aubrey Boys and Girls teams competed in various tournaments on multiple days. The results are as follows:
Monday
The girls teams competed in the Lindsay Invitational at Gainesville Golf Course. This was the 1st tournament of their high school career for all players. Each player gained valuable lessons and experience that will help them to better themselves for the rest of the season. The top scorer on the team was Kate Fetters, who posted a 112.
Tuesday
Aubrey #2 golf team competed in the Lindsay Invitational at Gainesville Golf Course. All players played much better from their previous tournament. They all look forward to the next tournament to keep improving.The top scorer on the team was Blake Eisley, who posted a 101.
Wednesday
Aubrey #1 golf team competed in the McKinney High Invitational at Oak Hollow Golf Club. With the brutal conditions, play was suspended after 9 holes. Today, the players learned how to play the ball in very windy conditions. Luke Bartel and Grant Ramsey led the team at +10 at the turn.
Both Girls and Boys will look to improve their game next week at Stone Creek Golf Course in Sherman.


The AMS UIL competitors excelled on Friday evening, competing against 9 schools and numerous participants. Across 13 events at all grade levels, whether as a team or individual, they placed in 10 events. Let's congratulate these exceptional students on their accomplishments.

Aubrey lost to Celina last night 5-0. Injuries are starting to show themselves significantly, and the boys are still in the playoff hunt despite the last few performances. The boys look to play an attacking style Anna team on Tuesday, and if they catch the right Aubrey team, it could bode very well for the Chaparrals. Kickoff is at 7:15 PM on Tuesday night. Aubrey Varsity Baseball kicked off the 2024 season Thursday at the Lake Dallas/Northwest ISD Tournament. The Chaps came up short in both games Thursday, falling to Frisco Memorial 9-3 and Keller Fossil Ridge 11-7. Braeden Flak hit a pair of triples and had two RBIs. Ryan McMeen also had a triple and scored two runs for the day.
On Friday, the Chaps lost a very close game to Colleyville Heritage 4-3 and beat Northwest 6-2 to pick up their first win of the season. In the Heritage game, Hank Nokes pitched great over five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out three hitters. Branden West picked up his first win of the season on the mound vs Northwest, throwing four innings, allowing four hits, one run, and striking out two. Offensively, Ryan McMeen had two hits including a double with one RBI, and Toby Davis hit a triple with two RBIs.
The Chaps will wrap up the Lake Dallas/Northwest ISD Tournament on Saturday in Lake Dallas at 12:15 p.m.


Fourth and Fifth graders at Brockett Elementary enjoyed a visit from WFAA meteorologist Jesse Hawila on Thursday. Hawila discussed the science behind weather, explained forecasting terms, and answered student questions. Impressed by the students, he shared on his Facebook account, "What an outstanding and bright group of 4th and 5th graders! Thank you so much for having me out!" #BES24


The Lady Chaps picked up 2 wins to improve their record to (7-0) In the first game the Chaps defeated Buda Johnson 7-3. Brynlie Dunkin was the winning pitcher throwing 5 innings and allowing 3 hits. Abby Buxton led the way on offense with 2 hits. In the second game Mya Cherry was the winning pitcher throwing 5 innings and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. On offense Tamia Cherry and Judah Van Rijn led the way with 2 hits each. Aubrey will be back in action tomorrow against Liberty Hill and Cedar Ridge. Go Chaps!!!! #Holdtherope 


At tonight’s board meeting, Aubrey High School seniors Maggie Fawks and Isaac Cervantes led the pledge. The board recognized Aubrey High School's All-State Band Members: Nicolas Devoir, Allison Reed, Isaac Cervantes, and Lexis Jones (not pictured). Also acknowledged was senior Brody Burton for earning State UIL Congress honors.


The Aubrey track teams fired things up this past Thursday at home. The competition was fast but all of our athletes had a great start to the season. The next meet will be in Celina Feb. 29.
