Battle Royale: Aubrey Powerlifters Shine at Prosper Meet
On Thursday, Jan. 23, our incredible girls competed at Prosper High School, taking on nearly 200 lifters from 6A, 5A, 4A, and 3A schools. They also went head-to-head with three of North Texas’ top programs—Denison, Springtown, and Prosper.
With margins as slim as 5-10 pounds, the battle for podium spots was intense. A huge thank you to our parents, students, and alumni for their support. Special thanks to alum Dana McAlister, who rushed from downtown Dallas to help the team.

The Aubrey boys’ soccer team faced Celina on Wednesday, 1/22, but came up short in a 0-2 loss. Celina’s first goal came from a counterattack breakaway where Aubrey was unable to secure the back post. Later, with just 1:37 left in the first half, Aubrey conceded a second goal off a Celina corner kick.
Despite the loss, Aubrey had several counterattacking opportunities and showed noticeable improvement in passing—better than they ever have against Celina. However, finding the net proved challenging. Aubrey came close with a few near misses, but a limited bench due to the flu led to fatigue by the end of the match.
The defense held strong throughout the game, conceding only on two rare mistakes, while goalkeeper Jackson Goble was a standout performer for the team. All the boys gave their best effort on the field and are eager to learn from their mistakes as they prepare for the next game.
Aubrey will face Bonham on Saturday at Bonham, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM.
