The girls powerlifting team deserves congratulations for their outstanding performance, bringing home the gold.

The Lady Chaps had a remarkable victory against Gainesville, winning 7-2 in a highly competitive match. Macy Childers delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 6 goals and assisting 1 goal. Landry Gannon contributed with 1 goal and 2 assists. Brynnlee Bohannon and Maria Maldonado each provided 1 assist. The team's chemistry on the field is truly impressive, as they continue to support and elevate each other's game. This collective effort has made us a stronger team overall. Our next game will be against Bonham at Bonham on February 14th, marking the end of the first half of district play. The JV game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity game at 7:15 p.m.!

The Aubrey Boys Soccer team suffered its first lopsided loss in district, losing to Gainesville 4-0. Aubrey had many corners and free kick opportunities but was unable to capitalize on them due to Gainesville's goalie playing an exceptional game. Despite battling hard and at times dominating possession, Aubrey wore out in the end due to the relentless pace of transition that Gainesville plays at. Aubrey will face Bonham this Wednesday at Aubrey. We look forward to seeing you there.

Aubrey's overall record now stands at 22-11 and 5-4 in district play with a loss to Panther Creek tonight. We came out with lots of energy and ran our offense well, but shots just did not fall. In the 2nd period, they got a few run outs that caused us to fall behind by 14 points going into halftime. Our guys responded well in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead to 8 points, but Panther Creek's speed and good shooting stopped all of our runs. I am very proud of how hard our kids played up to the end. This team never quits, which I believe shows lots of character. We have secured a playoff spot, but we need a win against Anna at home on Tuesday to get a better seeding for the playoffs. We continue to celebrate Black History Month, by recognizing the remarkable achievements and contributions of African Americans. Today, we shine a spotlight on the incredible legacy of Dr. Charles Richard Drew, widely regarded as the father of the blood bank. Dr. Drew was not only a brilliant surgeon and pioneer, but also an exceptional educator. While his invention of the blood bank brought him great recognition, he considered his role as a teacher to be his "greatest and most lasting contribution to medicine." Through his mentorship, he fostered a tradition of excellence, training and inspiring a new generation of African American surgeons who met his exacting standards. Career Technical Education (CTE) equips learners with practical skills for the real world, offering them opportunities to explore diverse careers and pursue paths aligned with their passions. February is dedicated to honoring the achievements of our CTE program and its students.

School counselors play a crucial role in supporting students. Elementary school counselors, like those in Aubrey Independent School District (AISD) - Tina Milacek, Jessica Carter, Tabitha Hellman, and Wendi Dowd - are highly trained in child development, learning strategies, self-management, and social skills. They are dedicated to promoting success for the students they serve. #NSCW24

The Lady Chaps won 13-0 tonight against neighboring school, Pilot Point. Lilly Stewart scored 1 goal, Brynnlee Bohannon had 3 goals and 2 assists, Macy Childers had 3 goals and 2 assists, Laney Lomas scored 2 goals, Maria Maldonado had 2 goals and 1 assists, Jordin Gomez had 2 goals and 1 assist, Kendall Sweetman had 1 assist, Emma Gillum had 1 assist, Alison Fleming had 1 assist, Emerson Briley had 1 assist, and Alexis Quinn had 1 assist. Goalies, Allie Crose and Lexis Jones achieved a shut out tonight, with the support of our defensive team. The girls will return to action on Friday, Feb. 9th at Home as they take on Gainesville. JV will kick-off at 5:30, followed by Varsity at 7:15!

The Aubrey Boys Soccer team secured a victory tonight against a scrappy new Pilot Point team at home. It was a special evening with our youth joining us for Youth Night festivities. Thank you to all middle school and Aubrey Youth who showed up to attend the game. We can’t wait for you to play for us one day, and you are welcome to come out anytime to hang out with the high school soccer players. Following the girls’ big victory, the boys started with a slow first half, leading 1-0 with a goal scored by freshman Osvaldo Osorio about halfway through. In the second half, Aubrey played a more attacking brand of soccer, connecting more passes and possessing the ball with excitement. Clark Stewart scored the second goal early in the second half, followed by Juan Serrano and Aiden Pearson, making it 4-0 with roughly 20 minutes remaining. Pilot Point scored on a penalty kick with no time left, bringing the final score to 4-1. The Chaps take on Gainesville at Gainesville on Friday at 7:15 PM.

The Aubrey Lady Chaps secured a playoff berth for the eighth year in a row with a 46-40 win over Ranchview. The Lady Chaps improve to 4-6 in district and 13-15 overall. Score by quarters for Aubrey were 19, 8, 10, 9. Score by quarters for Ranchview were 10, 4, 18, 8. Scorers for Aubrey were Kynadi Hall with 14 points, Brooklyn Weier with 13, Addy Cagle with 8 points, Landry Gannon and Abby Buxton with 4 points each, and Molly Ward with 3 points. I was very proud of this team for continuing to work hard and battle after starting district at 1-5. They continued to work hard in practice and kept a very positive attitude. I was also very proud of the way they wanted to keep the playoff streak alive. The Lady Chaps will now face Oak Cliff Faith Family in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The renovations to Aubrey High School are currently underway. The construction project, which is part of the 2022 bond package, includes an addition to the school that will increase capacity to 2,000 students by expanding the parking lot and adding a second level to the front of the campus. The estimated completion date for the construction is 2026.

National School Counseling Week acknowledges the vital importance of school counselors in our school system. Counselors play a significant role in assisting students in achieving academic success and preparing for their future. Jr. Beta had an outstanding performance at the State meet, winning numerous awards and bringing home a significant amount of hardware. As a result, several students have now qualified for Nationals, which is scheduled to take place in June in Savannah, Georgia.

The girls soccer team suffered a tough 1-4 loss tonight against a talented Anna team. In the first half, Macy Childers scored a goal with an assist from Landry Gannon. Despite the girls' efforts and their hard fight to equalize the score in the second half, they were unable to find the back of the net. The Lady Chaps will be back in action on February 6th at home. The JV team will play against Sanger at 4:00, followed by the Varsity team against Pilot Point at 5:30. Tuesday, February 6th is Aubrey Youth Soccer Night! Come out and show your support!
