The Aubrey High School Band had five recordings advance from the Region level to Area in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) competition. From there, three recordings advanced from Area North to the state level. State judging just took place, and the band earned the best results in school history. The varsity ensemble, Wind Ensemble, placed fifth in the march category and third in concert selection—referred to as “runner-up,” as two winners are named. The non-varsity Symphonic Band also placed ninth in the concert category. Congratulations to our talented band on this outstanding achievement.

Today we kicked off our New Teacher Academy and welcomed an exceptional group of educators to the Chaparral family! We’re excited to have them on board and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make.

Aubrey High School Football Equipment Handout Set for TOMORROW, July 29 The football equipment handout for Aubrey High School players will take place tomorrow, July 29, at the AHS Field House. Players should bring $20 to purchase their team-issued shorts and T-shirt. To be eligible to begin practice on Monday, Aug. 4, athletes must have a current physical on file and all Rank One paperwork completed. Pickup times are scheduled by class: • Seniors – 3 p.m. • Juniors – 3:45 p.m. • Sophomores – 4:30 p.m. • Freshmen – 5:15 p.m. This event is for high school players only. Parent Portal Now Online The Parent Portal is back online. Thank you for your patience as we transitioned our student data system to the 2025–26 school year.

Attendance matters from day one. Here’s what you can do to support student success. The goal is 95%: Be at school on time, every day, all day. Every day counts: Attendance directly impacts student learning and success. Every minute matters: Tardies and early pick-ups interrupt learning. Start strong: Good attendance habits begin in pre-K and kindergarten. Excuse absences promptly: Submit doctor’s notes within three days to avoid unexcused absences. Stay informed: Monitor your student’s attendance in Parent Portal. Contact your student’s campus with questions.

New Personal Communications Device Law Texas House Bill 1481, a new state law, will take effect during the 2025-26 school year and will directly impact student personal communication devices during instructional hours (defined as first bell to last bell). Exceptions are possible with documented medical needs, IEP or 504 accommodations, or other health and safety requirements as outlined by the law. Students may not use personal cellphones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds or similar devices during instructional hours. This includes lunch, recess and passing periods. Please begin talking to your child now about this upcoming change. Your support will help us create a more focused learning environment. Aubrey ISD will share more information as the plan is developed.

Students from McNabb Middle School represented Aubrey ISD at the National Junior Beta Convention, held June 29–July 3 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
