Lady Chaps Soccer (LCS) Shuts Out Farmersville
Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 – LCS faced the Lady Farmers of Farmersville in a game that started later than expected due to the boys’ match going to a shootout. The Lady Chaps had a slow offensive start, generating only a handful of half-chances in the first quarter, but steadily ramped up the pressure and took control.
With one minute left in the first half, senior Macy Childers sent a dangerous cross into the box that the Farmers’ goalkeeper mishandled. Freshman Daniella Dominic-Etuk was in the perfect position to capitalize, tapping in the first goal of the game and shifting the momentum heading into halftime.
LCS wasted no time in the second half, scoring four goals in the first 16 minutes. Junior Brynnlee Bohannon showcased her field vision and passing skills, setting up both Dominic-Etuk and Childers for two goals each.
Defensively, the backline was solid, shutting down a fast and athletic Farmersville offense. Junior goalkeeper Lexis Jones was a key factor, making 10 saves and securing her fifth shutout of the season.
LCS will take on a red-hot Gainesville team Tuesday night on the road, with junior varsity kicking off at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7:15 p.m. in a match with playoff implications.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, Aubrey played Farmersville on the road, battling to a 2-2 draw after closing the gap from a 3-0 defeat in January.
Aubrey struck first with a goal from Juan Serrano off an Aiden Pearson assist on a counterattack. Farmersville answered with a controversial goal off a corner kick that should have been negated due to a foul, as an Aubrey defender was pushed from behind. The teams went into halftime tied 1-1.
Early in the second half, Farmersville took the lead on a breakaway, but Aubrey immediately responded with a breakaway goal of their own by Connor Gourd, assisted by Aiden Pearson. The match remained a back-and-forth battle, with neither side backing down.
In penalty kicks, Aubrey came up short, falling 3-1. The lone goal in the shootout came from Kevin Prado.
Up Next:
Aubrey faces a crucial home matchup Tuesday against Gainesville, the new No. 1 team in the district. After a heartbreaking loss at Gainesville on Jan. 31 with just 17 seconds left, the Chaparrals are eager for a rematch.
